Overview
Blockchain protocol that lets autonomous workers create mutual protection funds. It works like a cooperative: every member contributes monthly an amount proportional to their income and, in case of emergency, is entitled to financial support drawn from the fund. The entire flow is executed by smart contracts, removing the need for an insurer or bank in the middle.
The problem
On-demand economy workers represent over thirty per cent of the Brazilian workforce, but have no formal social protection. A health emergency or accident can cause complete financial collapse. Banks and insurers exclude this population precisely because of the lack of formal employment ties.
Approach
Creates a financial safety net for autonomous workers who lack access to traditional benefits such as health insurance, unemployment insurance or paid medical leave. Contributions feed a collective fund, and emergency support is released according to rules defined in the smart contract, without depending on intermediary approval.
